Lee Men Add Four Provisional Marks In Boston and Birmingham

BOSTON/BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Lee University men's track & field team posted four new NCAA Division II Provisional Qualifying marks this weekend in two different meets. The Flames had a small group travel to the Northeast to compete at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic, while the rest of the team were at the University of South Alabama Jaguar Invitational which was held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

The Flames claimed three provisionals in the 5000-meter run on Saturday in Boston. Edimo Ninteretse placed 10th with a time of 13:53.31. Tucker Wright was 23rd (14:06.07) and Pierre Chauveau was 26th (14:06.87). The time to meet was 14:21.50. Ninteretse is ninth in NCAA DII with Wright's time at No. 23 and Chauveau No. 27.

William Adkins placed 16th in the 800-meter run after crossing the finish line at 1:52.36. Stephen Clark finished the mile at 4:08.93 for 51st place.

Aiden Shaw collected Lee's fourth provisional on Sunday at the USA Jaguar Invitational. Shaw was second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.63 seconds. The time needed for the provisional was 48.28 seconds.

Joining Shaw in the 400 were Cooper Giddens, Eli Cobble, Andrew DeLorenzo and Travis Coley. Giddens (49.13) finished third with Cobble (49.42) right behind in fourth. DeLorenzo (50.89) was 14th and Coley placed 20th (51.74).

Shaw Helfrich, Gage Whited and Timothy Doolittle competed in the 60-meter preliminaries. Helfrich placed eighth with a time of 6.96 seconds to advance to the finals where he finished sixth (6.94). White was 14th (7.01) and Doolittle placed 37th (7.34).

DeLorenzo (23.04) and Coley (23.48) finished 27th and 31st, respectively, in the 200-meter dash.

Six Flames were part of the field in the 800-meter run. Parker Campbell stopped the clock at 1:54.89 (fifth) and Nathan Fontan was eighth (1:57.12). Elliot Anderson (1:59.02), Kylian Boulanger (1:59.74), John Womack (1:59.88) and Chris Ross (2:00.26) claimed spots 10th through 13th.

Boulanger was third (4:17.46) in the mile. Conner Campbell was fourth (4:17.70) and Ross finished sixth (4:19.64).

Elijah Moran led six Flames in the 3000-meter run with a fourth-place time of 8:35.45. Luke Gaddis crossed in fifth place (8:37.22) with Jayden Allred right behind in sixth (8:39.13). CJ Jeffords (8:45.08) was eighth, Luke Chapuran (8:58.89) finished 13th and Parker Campbell (9:01.75) placed 15th.

Silas Fulford placed 10th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.55 seconds. Isaac Iosia was 13th at 8.61 seconds. Cobble, Whited, Giddens and Shaw won the 4x400 relay with a combined time of 3:16.53.

Fulford finished 10th in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.47 meters. Helfrich was 12th at 4.32 meters and Jacob Atkinson placed 15th with a vault of 4.32 meters.

In the long jump, Doolittle cleared 6.25 meters to place 17th. Helfrich finished 23rd with a leap of 6.03 meters and Jacob Salters was 24th with a mark of 6.00 meters.

Salters covered 13.74 meters to place fifth in the triple jump. Lenny Fabulas' mark of 11.86 meters was good for 11th.

Rodney Ngezimani finished 13th in the shot put with a measurement of 13.16 meters. Carrington Tate was fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 16.72 meters. Ian Trill finished 12th with a throw of 14.75 meters and Ngezimani was 13th at 14.54 meters.

The Flames travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, next weekend at JDL Fast Track. The Camel City Sprints are on Friday with the Camel City Distance on Saturday.
