FINAL RESULTS
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Lee University men's track & field team scored 149 points on the final day of competition to pull away from the field and win their fourth Gulf South Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship. The Flames claimed four individual championships on Friday and finished with 213 points. UAH placed second with 148 points and Mississippi College was third with 121 points.
As a result of his performance over the two days of competition, Pierre Chauveau was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer. Timothy Doolittle was named the Champion Scholar-Athlete.
Shaw Helfrich, Cameron Stine, Silas Fulford and Doolittle completed the final three events of the heptathlon on Friday. Helfrich reached 4,855 points for second place, while Stine (4,724) placed third and Fulford (4,595) was fifth. Doolittle accumulated 3,314 points for 10
th place.
Lenny Fabulas led Lee into the high jump and came away with first place after clearing 2.01 meters. Stine and Jacob Salters finished ninth and 10
th, respectively, with marks of 1.85 meters.
Carrington Tate was third in the weight throw with a toss of 17.59 meters. Ian Trill added two more team points with a mark of 15.75 meters (seventh). Rodney Ngezimani's measurement of 14.40 meters put him in 15
th and Spencer Myren finished 19
th after a throw of 12.45 meters.
Andrew DeLorenzo covered 11.88 meters to place 11
th in the triple jump.
Back on the track, the Flames claimed four of the top five finishers of the mile run. Chauveau won the event with a time of 4:04.09. Parker Campbell was third (4:09.13) with Stephen Clark (4:09.62) in fourth and Nathan Fontan (4:11.40) fifth. CJ Jefford crossed the finish line at 4:28.99 for 17
th overall.
Three more Flames scored in the 400-meter dash. Aiden Shaw placed second with a time of 48.10 seconds. Eli Cobble (48.53) was fourth and Cooper Giddens (49.09) was fifth. DeLorenzo placed 11
th (50.02) and Travis Coley was 19
th (51.49).
Isaac Iosia placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles. He stopped the clock at 8.47 seconds. Silas Fulford finished eighth (8.80). Giddens finished seventh in the 60-meter dash at 7.04 seconds, and Gage Whited was eighth (7.06).
Five Flames competed in the 800-meter final. William Adkins placed fifth (1:53.24) and Campbell (1:53.61) was sixth. Fontan crossed the line at 1:58.91 for 14
th. Clark was 22
nd (2:01.79) and John Womack finished 26
th (2:06.26).
The Lee men took all three spots on the podium in the 200-meter dash and the 3000-meter run. Whited was the 200 champion with a time of 21.53 seconds, while Shaw was second (21.54) and Giddens (21.62) placed third. Chauveau won the 3000 after crossing the line at 8:16.00. Tucker Wright was second at 8:17.28 and Edimo Ninteretse claimed third place (8:19.86). Kylian Boulanger added a seventh-place finish at 8:28.58.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Cobble, Giddens, Whited and Shaw finalized the team standings with a third-place time of 3:15.14.
