HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Lee University softball team could not muster a run in a 5-0 loss to the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Friday evening. It was the fourth straight loss for the Lady Flames who will look to rebound on Saturday afternoon when they will play a double header against the Chargers.
UAH used two hits, an error, and a hit by pitch to score a run in the second inning. It would be the only run the Chargers would need. UAH added a run in the bottom of the third with a single, wild pitch, sac bunt and a fielder's choice.
Sadie Winsett garnered the first hit for Lee in the fourth but was left on base. The Chargers added a run in the fifth behind two hits and another Lee error. The final two runs for UAH came in the sixth on two more hits and another error.
The Lady Flames had three hits and three errors. UAH had ten hits. Eva Armstrong, Sadie Winsett and Kaylee Wilson had the three hits for Lee.
Kaylee Underwood started in the circle and gave up five runs on ten hits on 107 pitches. For UAH Megan Schurtz threw just 77 pitches in seven innings and struck out seven batters.
