CLEVELAND, Tenn. – A late fourth quarter rally from the Lee University lacrosse team was not enough as they fell 12-10 to Converse University to open the 2026 campaign. Beck Reinhard for Converse dominated the game as she had nine of the 12 goals for the Valkyries. This was the first loss for Lee in program history to Converse.
The game started off slowly as it took five minutes for either team to score. Reinhard got her first goal at the 10:55 mark of the first period. Taylor McGovern tied the game for Lee a minute and a half later and that was the only time the game was tied. The final goal of the period came for Converse with 23 seconds left. Reinhard made it 2-1 after 15 minutes of play.
Reinhard scored four more goals in the second quarter while Lee only had one goal from Riley Bader and the Lady Flames trailed 6-2 at halftime.
Reinhard scored two more quick goals out of the halftime break to give Converse an 8-2 lead. The Lady Flames then tried to mount a comeback. Lee scored three goals in just over 90 seconds to make it an 8-5 game. Emma Bailey, Lanie Carroll, and Kamille Kremkau all had a goal in that short time frame.
Converse had two goals to start the fourth from someone other than Reinhard. Hailey Obenchain and Maia Maquez scored back-to-back to make it a 10-5 contest. After a Noelle Harrington goal for Lee, Reinhard scored her ninth goal of the game. Lee responded with two goals from Carroll and another one from Kremkau. Obenchain scored the final goal for Converse with 5:20 left in the game. Kaitlyn Lawrence had one more goal for the 12-10 final
Converse took two more total shots than Lee while both teams had 14 turnovers. Lee led in draw controls at 12-10 but only managed four saves while Converse had seven.
The Lady Flames will return to action on Wednesday, February 11 as they will host Emmanuel University at 5 PM.
