EMORY, Va. –The Lee University softball team dropped two games on the road to Emory & Henry on Wednesday. The Wasps hit four home runs in game one to win it 9-7. They hit four more home runs in game two to win 9-0. Lee hit three home runs in game one but could not pull out the win. Lee fell to 10-19 on the year. They will finish the road trip this weekend with a three-game series at Mississippi College. 
 
GAME 1
 
Hailey Simco led the game off with a solo home run to give Lee the 1-0 lead. After a Hayden Gardner walk, Addi Lewis continued her power hitting by connecting on her seventh home run of the season and Lee led 3-0. EH answered right back in the bottom of the first. After a hit by a pitch, they hit back-to-back home runs and tied the game at 3-3. Two more hits for the Wasps made it 4-3.
 
Emory & Henry extended the lead in the bottom of the second. Two singles and a double plated two more runs to lead it 6-3. Lee stormed back in the fourth. Madison Pinzon singled and then was brought home by Simco's second home run of the day. Eva Armstrong and Gardner both singled to get on base. Lewis was then hit by a pitch to load the bases. Alyson Jarvi doubled to bring Gardner and Armstrong home and Lee led it 7-6.
 
The Wasps tied the game in the fourth with a sacrifice fly. Liberty Johnson hit a home run in the fifth to give EH the lead. Karsen Simpson gave Emory & Henry one more run in the sixth inning on a solo home run.
 
Lee hit three home runs in the loss while EH had four. Simco and Jarvi each had three hits while Simco had three RBI. Lewis and Jarvi each had two RBI as well.
 
Kaylee Underwood threw two innings and gave up six runs on seven hits. Layne Bailey threw four innings and gave up three runs on five hits.
 
GAME 2
 
Emory & Henry took the lead in the bottom of the first. After a Lee error, Sawyer Tolley homered to score two runs. Abigail Street hit a solo home run in the second to make it a 3-0 lead in the second inning.
 
The home run ball continued for EH in the third inning. A walk and a hit by a pitch put two on base and then Liberty Johnson cleared the bases with a three-run home run. Emory & Henry ended the game in the fifth inning when Tristyn Tofano hit a three-run home run to give the Wasps a 9-0 win.
 
Pinzon had two of the five hits for the Lady Flames. EH had nine runs on eight hits. 
 
Sadie Winsett threw two and two-thirds innings and gave up six runs on three hits. Bailey threw two innings in relief and gave up three runs on five hits.
