Women's Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season With Four Provisionals At Lee Invitational

Maria Mitchell (No. 2) won both the 800m and 1500m with provisional qualifying times.
FINAL RESULTS

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Lee University women's track & field team opened its outdoor season at the Lee University Invitational this weekend at the Ray Conn Sports Complex. The Lady Flames collected four new NCAA Division II Provisional marks with Maria Mitchell claiming two and the other two coming in the pole vault.
 
Provisional Qualifying Performances:
  • Maria Mitchell won the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:25.35 to beat the provisional time of 4:28.93. The time is No. 2 on the NCAA Division II performance list.
  • Maria Mitchell crossed the finish line of the 800-meter run in first place at 2:10.65. She finished ahead of the qualifying time of 2:11.25. That time is the fourth-fastest time reported so far this season.
  • Brynn Depinet cleared 3.95 meters to win the pole vault. The height to reach for the provisional qualifier is 3.79 meters. Her mark is third among DII athletes so far this season.
  • Addison Kohlmeier finished second with a clearance of 3.85 meters in the pole vault to surpass the provisional mark (3.79m). Her measurement is tied for seventh with two others among DII athletes.

Coming Up:
The Lady Flames will be at two separate meets this coming weekend. Katie Beam, Aria Hawkins, Maria Mitchell and Ava Sparks are scheduled to travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, for the 2026 Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track & Field Facility. The rest of the team will be at Don McGarey Invitational at Kennesaw State University. The Raleigh Relays will be contested Thursday through Saturday, while the Don McGarey Invitational is set for Friday and Saturday.
