SAINT LEO, Fla. –The Saint Leo University Women's Lacrosse team scored eight goals in the first 8:15 of the game on the way to a defeat of the Lee University squad 23-5. The Lady Flames fell to 4-5 on the year and will stay in Florida to take on Pam Beach Atlantic University on Thursday.
Saint Leo scored nine goals in the first, six in the second quarter, six in the third and two in the fourth. Lee scored two in the first, one in the third, and two in the fourth.
Five different Lady Flames had goals in the game. Kylee Kangas, Taylor McGovern, Emma Bailey, Noelle Harrington, and Kaitlyn Lawrence.
Saint Leo outshot Lee 33-14. Savannah Weisman had three saves in goal while Sydney Mayo had one.
The Lions had the advantage 20-7 in draw controls and in ground balls at 15-13. Lee had one yellow card and five green cards in the loss.
