Flames Place First, Collect Four Provisional Marks At Fast Break Athletics Invitational

RESULTS

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Lee University men's track & field team placed first out of 25 teams this weekend at the Lee University Fast Break Athletics Invitational. The two-day meet was held at Lee's Ray Conn Sports Complex.

The Flames collected four new NCAA Division II Provisional marks on their way to amassing 146 points. Saginaw Valley was second with 103 points and Anderson (S.C.) University was third with 66 points.
 
Provisional Qualifying Performances:
  • Eli Cobble crossed the finish line of the 400-meter dash at 47.43 seconds to beat the qualifying time of 47.55. His time is No. 35 among DII athletes this season.
  • Three Flames met the provisional qualifying time of 9:10.72 in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Stephen Clark posted the third-fastest time this season at 8:47.98. Parker Campbell crossed the finish line at 9:03.45 (No. 13) and Luke Gaddis recorded a time of 9:04.31 (No. 14).

Coming Up:
The Flames will return to action next weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational. The meet is scheduled for April 17-18 at George C. Griffin Track.
