BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After winning four games last week, the Lee University baseball team had Evan Bloomer and Luke Collier named Gulf South Conference athletes of teh week. Bloomer was the GSC Pitcher of the Week while Collier was the GSC Player of the Week. For Collier it is the second straight week he has won the award.

Collier had a big week as the Flames beat Tusculum University and swept Valdosta State University. He hit .556 for the week, was 10-for-18 and slugged right at 1.000. He had seven RBI and six runs scored this week. He hhit one double two triples, and one home run. With the triple he set the all-time Lee record for career triples. He was walked once and had two strikeouts and a stolen base. On defense at shortstop he had four putouts and 12 assists with no errors.
 
Bloomer threw a complete game in the opening game win over VSU. He gave up two runs on five hits. He had eight strikeouts and only one walk. VSU only hit .161 against him. He did not have a wild pitch and did not hit a batter. He also had one assist with no errors.
