Senior Lauren Williams has been named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week after guiding the Lee volleyball team to a weekend sweep over Mississippi College and West Alabama.

Williams was on fire from the outset in Friday's 3-0 sweep of the Choctaws as she registered 16 kills on 17 total attacks with no errors for a school-record .941 hitting percentage.  The previous mark of .875 was set by Lee hall of famer Katrina Chatfield back in 1998.

"I thought Lauren had an amazing performance tonight," remarked head coach Andrea Hudson.  "To record the amount of kills she did with no errors was outstanding."

The middle-blocker from Brooklyn Park, Minn. would come back on Saturday and tally 13 kills and three blocks as the Lady Flames made quick work of the Tigers in a 3-0 sweep. 

Williams and Lee will travel to Carrollton to battle West Georgia on Tuesday at 6 p.m. On Friday the Lady Flames play their final road match of the year as they travel to Rome, Ga. to battle Gulf South Conference leader Shorter at 7 p.m.
