Seth Eagleson has been named Lee University's Male Athlete of the Week after his performance at the National Christian College Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field National Championships last weekend in Rome, Ga.

Eagleson handed Lee its first win of the weekend with a mark of 32:03.89 in the 10000 meter run. The freshmen crossed the finish line over eight seconds ahead of runner-up Timothy Zuercher of Oklahoma Christian University.  The national title in the 10000 meters also netted Eagleson All-American honors. 

"Seth ran a perfect race," said Lee head coach Caleb Morgan. "He tucked in behind the leaders, not doing any work until the final 1200 meters and ran his last mile in 4:45. He is only a freshman, so the future is bright for the Flames with him leading the way."

Eagleson would come back on Saturday and claim a sixth place finish in the 5,000 meter run with a time 15:24.34.
