Men's basketball center Rantavious Gilbert has been named Lee University's Male Athlete of the Week.
Gilbert tallied seven points, five rebounds and three blocks in the Flames' 71-67 victory over rival Union University on Thursday evening.
The senior from Albany, Ga. came back on Saturday and was an enforcer in the middle recording eight blocks to go along with 11 points and six rebounds in Lee's heartbreaking last second overtime loss to Christian Brothers University.
Gilbert leads the team and the Gulf South Conference with 65 blocks averaging 3.6 per contest.
Gilbert and the Flames will look to bounce back as they head on the road this week for matchups with West Florida (8:30 p.m.) on Thursday and Valdosta State (4 p.m.) on Saturday.
