BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lee infielder Tyler Payne (Fr.; Chattanooga, Tenn.) was named the Gulf South Conference Baseball Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.

Payne collected four hits in eight plate appearances with an RBI in a three-game series against North Alabama last week. Payne is hitting .308 with a triple and seven RBI in 10 games played this season.

The Flames will travel to Stillman College on Wednesday for a single game at 3 p.m. before visiting Rome, Ga. to battle rival Shorter University in a three-game set starting Saturday at noon.
