Softball first baseman Lexie Dean has been named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week.

The senior from Ooltewah, Tenn. continued her torrid season at the plate this past week in wins over Tusculum on Wednesday and during at three-game set with No. 6 North Alabama over the weekend.

Dean finished the week 8 for 18 (.444) with a double, triple and seven RBI. On the season Dean is hitting a team-high .458 and also leads the Lady Flames with 31 RBI and 44 hits.

Dean will lead the Lady Flames to Nashville to square off with Trevecca Nazarene University on Wednesday at 3 and 5:30. Lee will matchup with longtime rival Shorter University in Rome, Ga. beginning Saturday at 1 p.m.
