Lee women's basketball junior Erin Walsh has been named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week.

Walsh scored 18 points in a 67-56 victory over West Alabama on Monday, Jan. 2. The sharpshooter from Knoxville, Tenn. followed that up with 28 points and six rebounds in a two-point loss to Valdosta State on Saturday.

Walsh is averaging 15.8 points per contest while canning 39 triples. She is shooting 89 percent from the foul line and 37 percent from the field while logging 34 minutes per game. She also has been a big factor on the defensive side of the court, swiping nearly two steals a game.

Walsh has helped guide the Lady Flames to a 10-3 record and a 5-2 mark in the Gulf South Conference. Lee is currently tied for first with West Florida, Valdosta State and North Alabama.

Walsh and the Lady Flames will head on the road this weekend to matchup with Christian Brothers on Thursday before visiting rival Union on Saturday afternoon.
