Junior Audrey Smith has been named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week after her peformance on Sunday in Birmingham, Ala. to open up the 2017 indoor track season.

Smith, a native of Acworth, Ga., secured the top spot with strong performances in the 5000 meter run. Smith stopped the clock at 17:57.10 and Noble crossed the finish line at 15:05.99. Seth Eagleson was right behind Noble in third (15:11.75).

"Audrey had a great race in the 5000 meter. She looked comfortable getting her first win of the season," said head coach Caleb Morgan. Smith would also garner third in the mile run with a mark of 5:06.97.

Smith and the Lady Flames will get back on the track on Feb. 3-4 as they compete in the Camel City Invitational hosted by Wake Forest University.
