INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has announced the participants for the 2017 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships. Lee University's Justin Brooks has been selected to be one of the 540 total participants, 270 men and 270 women, and one of 17 in the men's 400 meter dash. He is the first Lee athlete to qualify for the NCAA DII Indoor Championships.

Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Brooks met the 400 meter provisional standard of 48.73 with a time of 47.86 in the Emory CrossPlex Invitational, which was held at the Birmingham CrossPlex. He will enter the preliminaries with the 15th-quickest qualifying time. Myles Pringle of Ashland University enters with the top time of 46.11.

The championships will be held March 9-11 in Birmingham, Alabama at the Birmingham CrossPlex, as part of the 2017 NCAA Division II National championships Festival. The championships will be streamed live on www.NCAA.com.

Brooks will run in the preliminaries of the 400 meter dash at 6:20 p.m. EST on Thursday (Mar. 9). The event final is scheduled for Saturday at 4:45 p.m. EST.
