BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lee junior Rob Gustitus was named the Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.

The right-hander got the win in game two of Lee's weekend series against Shorter on Saturday. Gustitus tossed all seven innings allowing one unearned run on three hits while striking out five.

The Brighton, Mich. native is now 2-1 on the year with a 3.18 ERA. In 34 innings of work he has allowed just 27 hits and struck out 28. Opponents are hitting only .216 off of him.

Gustitus and the Flames are 18-9 overall and 8-7 is in the balanced GSC as they prepare for another big weekend matchup with Valdosta State at Olympic Field on Saturday and Sunday. The Flames will take a mid-week trip to Nashville to play Trevecca on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
