Softball junior Leigh Beatenbough has been named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week.

The native of Canon, Ga. helped the Lady Flames with both her arm and her bat as they took two of three at West Alabama over the weekend. Beatenbough also pitched in game one of a 3-2 win over Trevecca last Wednesday.

Beatenbough tossed 14 innings over three games to help lead the Lady Flames to a 4-1 mark on the week. She allowed just 11 hits and struck out 15 while surrendering just two runs. 

At the plate Beatenbough hit her first home run of her career in Sunday's 10-0 walloping of the Tigers. On the year Beatenbough has posted 12-4 record with a 2.79 ERA while hitting .288 with 12 runs driven in.

The Lady Flames will host rival Union University in a three-game Gulf South Conference series beginning on Saturday at 2 p.m.
