Lee women's junior golfer Sam Burrus has been named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week after being named to the Gulf South Conference First Team for the second straight season.

Burrus, a Nashville native, carries a team-leading 75 scoring average and finished eighth in the GSC Tournament last week with a 230 total. 

She will lead the No. 13 Lady Flames into Super South Regional play beginning May 8-10 from Elgin, S.C. The 54-hole event will take place at The Member's Club at Woodcreek. The par-72 course will play at 6,215 yards.

Twelve teams will be participating and the top three along with three individuals not with a team will advance on to the NCAA National Championship May 17-20 from Findlay, Ohio.
