Lee sophomore runner Christian Noble has been named the Gulf South Conference Runner of the Week the league office announced on Wednesday.

Noble held the Flames set a program record for the 8K distance with a total time of 2:03.49 at the Royals Cross Country Challenge on Fridya evening. The previous top mark was set on the same course at last year's event.

The Greenfield, Ind. native finished second and broke Seth Eagleson's Lee record with a time of 23:50. Eagleson's record was of 24:25.7 set in last year's Royals XC Challenge race.

Noble and the No.14 Fames will now enter the championship portion of their schedule with the Gulf South Conference Championship on Oct. 21. The 8K race will be held at Oakville Indian Mounds Course in Danville, Ala.
