MaKayla Beebe has been named the Lee University Female Athlete of the Week after being named to the Gulf South Conference All-Tournament Team last weekend.

Beebe led the Lady Flames to victory in the GSC Quarterfinals over West Alabama as she tallied 30 digs. The agile libero came right back and registered 28 digs in Lee's 3-1 loss to North Alabama in the semifinals on Saturday.

Beebe was named to the GSC All-Conference team for the second straight season and finished the year with 568 digs.

 "Makayla is such a dynamic player and she is always flying across the floor getting at balls that most people can't even see. She had a tremendous tournament and was certainly worthy of making the all-tournament team. She is just a great defensive player," said head coach Andrea Hudson.
