Men's basketball forward Ryan Montgomery has been named the Lee University Male Athlete of the Week.

The Chattanooga native scored 15 points and had five rebounds in the Flames overtime loss to Valdosta State on Tuesday. Montgomery came back with 16 points and nine boards to help Lee knock off previously unbeaten and No. 15 West Florida on Thursday evening in Walker Arena.

Montgomery leads the team with 11.7 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per contest.

The Flames will travel to West Alabama on Wednesday before returning home to test rival Shorter on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
