BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Christian Noble has been named the Gulf South Conference Runner of the Week as he helped the Lee University Men's Cross Country team to a fourth place finish in Royals Cross Country Challenge last Friday.

Noble placed first out of 395 runners and set a new Lee record time of 23:27. The time beat his previous record mark of 23:50, which he posted at the same race last season.

This is the third time this season Noble has won GSC Runner of the Week. With this week's honor, he moves into sole possession of second all-time with seven career GSC Runner of the Week awards. Blaise Binns of Alabama Huntsville had won the award eight times to hold the top spot.

The Flames return to action on November 3 with the GSC Championship. The 6K championship will be hosted by Mississippi College at Choctaw Trails in Jackson, Miss.
