Junior Bailey Church led the Lady Flames to a 3-2 record this past week at the Gulf Shores Invitational to open up the 2019 season.

Church drilled two home runs, had nine RBI and hit .357 over the five games. The catcher from Melissa, Texas had two doubles, a home run and four RBI in a 12-3 route of Miles College on Saturday night.

Church and the Lady Flames will play five more games this weekend as they take part in the NFCA Leadoff Classic from Clearwater, Fla. Lee will wrap up a 12-game road trip to start the year with a visit to Lincoln Memorial for a doubleheader on Wednesday before the home opener at Butler Field on Feb. 16 against GSC foe and No. 22 Valdosta State.
