BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lee women's soccer senior Riley Engels has been named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week after scoring a pair of goals in two Lady Flame victories this past week.

Engels produced a heroic goal in Sunday's win over West Florida, in what coach Chris Hennessey described as a "display of individual brilliance", when she powered past two defenders and drilled a shot over the keeper to break a scoreless tie in the 84th minute.

Engels also tallied a goal in Friday's 5-1 win over Spring Hill and currently tied for the team lead in goals (5), assists (4) and points (14).

The No. 14 Lady Flames improved to 8-2 on the year and 4-1 in the GSC and will head on the road this weekend to West Tennessee to test Union on Friday and Christian Brothers on Sunday.
