Men's basketball player Corey Billingsley has been named Lee University's Male Athlete of the Week.

The junior guard was on fire in Thursday's road loss to West Alabama. Billingsley hit 10-of-12 from the field and 5-of-6 from 3-point distance to account for a game-high 31 points.

The Sweetwater native scored 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field in Saturday's contest against Alabama-Huntsville. Billingsley also grabbed five rebounds and swiped four steals as the Flames fell, 66-52.

On the year the three-year lettermen is averaging a team-high 19.3 ppg. Bllingsley makes the most of his shot attempts hitting 54.8 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from behind the arc.

The Flames will look to Billingsley to help turnaround a six-game slide when they host West Georgia on Thursday inside Walker Arena. Tip time for the GSC battle will be at 8 p.m.
