Blanton, White Garner All-GSC Honors

Brittney White earns her second straight All-GSC honor.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Lee women's lacrosse stars Dariana Blanton and Brittney White were named to the Gulf South Conference First Team the league office announced this week.

Blanton, a senior captain, finished second in the GSC in goals with 54 and is the program's all-time leader in goals, points, and assists. White, a junior, continued to dominate in the draw circle as she led the league in draws controls with 122 and is the all-time program leader with 315. She scored 39 goals and added 12 assists this year to help the Lady Flames secure a No. 2 seed in the GSC Championship.

"Dariana and Brittney are very deserving to be named to the 2022 GSC All-Conference team.  They both serve as team captains for us and are leaders on the field and at Lee University," said Lee head coach Derrel Martin. "Dariana capped off a great lacrosse career with a strong senior season.  She is the Lee program leader for goals, assists, and total points and this year finished second in the GSC for total goals with 54.  She is also 20th in the nation with a free position shot percentage of .636. Brittney turned in another solid year in the midfield.  She is 9th in the nation and leads the GSC with 122 draw controls.  She is the all-time leader for draw controls at Lee with 315.  For her 2022 season, she has 39 goals and rounded out her play even more
by upping her assist total to 12."

The Lady Flames finished the regular season at 8-7 and were 5-1 in the GSC. Lee will battle Flagler on Friday in the GSC Semifinals in Huntsville, Ala. at 5 p.m. With a win the Lady Flames would make their first appearance ever in the GSC Championship on Sunday at 2 p.m.
