Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Lee University women's lacrosse team lost their fifth straight game on Wednesday evening as they fell to hosts University of Alabama in Huntsville 23-6. The Lady Flames dropped their second straight Gulf South Conference game and are now 4-9 overall and 0-2 in GSC action. Lee will continue the road trip with a game against new GSC-affiliate member Virginia State University on Sunday.
UAH scored the first goal of the game just 49 seconds into the contest. Kylee Kangas tied the game just a couple of minutes later, but that was as close as Lee got in the contest. Lanie Carroll added a goal for Lee, but UAH led 6-2 at the end of the first quarter.
Kangas added another goal in the second quarter, but UAH pulled away and led 13-3 at the break. Carroll scored her second goal of the night in the third quarter, but UAH scored six more and made it a 19-4 contest after 45 minutes of action.
Carroll and Lily Tomczik each scored in the fourth quarter, but UAH tacked on four more to win it 23-6.
UAH outshot Lee 34-15. Lee only managed six saves while UAH had four. The Chargers had 30 ground balls to 19 for the Lady Flames. Lee also trailed in draw controls 20-9.
