Lady Flames Grab Four Top Ten Results At Camel City Invitational

Liza Kellerman was part of the first-place DMR team and added a sixth-place finish in the mile.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Lee University women's track & field team collected four top 10 finishes at the Camel City Invitational. The meet was held on Friday and Saturday at the JDL Fast Track.

The distance medley relay team of Lily Hare, Eve Hine, Liza Kellerman and Aria Hawkins were the event  winners with a time of 11:58.47. They finished eight seconds ahead of second place East Carolina. Their finishing time converts to 11:50.86 due to track size and is the seventh-best qualifying time of the indoor season.

Megan Adams finished third in the 3000-meter run with a raw time of 9:48.47. Her converted time of 9:43.47 met the provisional mark and is No. 19 in DII. Julia Halterman was 12th (10:02.56) and Olivia McLain was 18th (10:15.99).

Kellerman added another provisional qualifying mark in the mile. She crossed the finish line at 4:57.39 for sixth place. Her time when converted becomes 4:54.48 and puts her at No. 31. Hawkins and Hare joined her in the mile. Hawkins was 11th (5:04.76) and Hare placed 13th (5:06.78).

Hine also collected a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash. She crossed the finish line at 25.94 seconds.

The Lady Flames travel to the Birmingham CrossPlex on Sunday to participate in the University of South Alabama Jaguar Invitational.
