Lady Flames Add Four Provisional Qualifiers At Lee Last Chance Meet

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – On the final weekend to meet the provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, six members of the Lee University women's team met the provisional standard in four different events.

Celine Ritter improved her time and ranking in the 800-meter run with a Lee Record time of 2:06.13. She cut four seconds off her previous mark and now sits at No. 3 among DII athletes in the event. Lily Hare posted a time of 2:12.12 to meet the provisional mark of 2:12.23. She is now No. 60 on the performance list. Aria Hawkins joined them in the 800 race and placed 10th with a time of 2:14.45.

Jydia Faucette soared 6.05 meters to earn a first-place finish in the long jump. The mark met the provisional of 5.83 meters and is 23rd-best in DII this season. Carissa Hall placed third with a jump of 5.92 meters. Her top mark this season remains at 6.03 meters (No. 25 in DII). Hall also covered 11.90 meters to finish third in the triple jump.

Eve Hine met the 400-meter dash qualifying mark of 56.00 with a first-place finish of 54.32 seconds to record the No. 19 performance this year.

Hine joined Kristen Blevins, Faucette and Hall in the 4x100 relay where they finished first. Their time of 46.10 seconds places them at No. 31 on the performance list. If you remove the multiple entries from the same institutions, the foursome moves to No. 22.

The Lady Flames entered two teams into the 4x400 relay. The team of Hine, Blevins, Kaia Martz and Hall placed second with a time of 3:47.55. Sydney White, Hare, Hawkins and Ritter combined to finish fifth with a total time of 3:59.70.

In the 100-meter dash preliminary, Blevins posted a third-place time of 11.84 seconds, Martz was 11th (12.08) and Jaila Whitaker (12.29) was 18th. In the first round of the preliminaries, Martz finished in 12.13 and Whitaker posted a time of 12.32.

Whitaker added an 18th-place finish in the 200 with a time of 26.60. Faucette placed fourth after crossing the finish line of the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.90.

The Lady Flames had six participants in the 5000-meter run. Katie Krueger finished ninth overall at 18:03.05. Julia Halterman finished 10th (18:05.34), Ashlyn Iliff was 11th (18:07.57) and Olivia McLain placed 12th (18:09.32). Danielle Horter (18:49.10) finished 22nd and Phoebe Moran (18:49.44) was 23rd.

Liza Kellerman placed sixth (4:33.30) in the 1500. Elizabeth Heckman finished the 10000-meter run in 39:22.36 to claim seventh place.

Deborah Rubin posted a throw of 51.34 meters to finish third in the hammer throw.

Sunday, May 14, is the final day a qualifying mark may be made with final declarations of athletes to be considered for the championships field to be made by midday Monday. The championships fields are scheduled to be posted on NCAA.com by 6 p.m. EDT.
