Flames Claim Fourth Consecutive GSC Cross Country Championship

RESULTS

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Lee University men's cross country team placed four runners in the top five and six in the top 10 to win the 2025 GSC Cross Country Championship Saturday morning. The Flames tallied just 21 points to beat runner-up Alabama Huntsville by 36 points. The 8K race was contested at Shelby Farms Park.

The win by the Flames was their fourth consecutive GSC Championship and eighth in program history. They also posted the lowest men's team score at the GSC meet since 2011.

UAH's Ahmed Ibrahim was the first of 99 runners across the finish line to win the individual title. He stopped the clock at 23:29.37. Pierre Chauveau was just 19.18 seconds behind to grab second place at 23:48.55.

Tucker Wright, Edimo Ninteretse and Ryan Lovelace grabbed the next three finishing spots. Wright was third at 23:51.86, Ninteretse crossed the line fourth at 23:59.01 and Lovelace was fifth at 24:10.49. Lee's fifth scorer, Evan Moore, was seventh overall with a time of 24:14.91.

Luke Gaddis gave Lee six runners in the top 10 with a 10th-place finish of 24:18.84. Chris Ross and Jayden Allred were Lee's next two finishers. Ross' time of 24:29.91 was good for 13th and Allred finished 16th (24:37.30).

Stephen Clark was Lee's ninth runner. He completed the race at 25:06.39 to finish 25th overall. Xian Campbell rounded out the Lee competitors at 34th overall (25:19.55).

Lee had eight runners earn All-GSC status. Chauveau, Wright, Ninteretse, Lovelace, Moore and Gaddis were First Team All-GSC for placing among the top 10 runners. Ross and Allred earned recognition as Second Team All-GSC after finishing between 11th and 20th. Gaddis was also named Men's Champion Scholar-Athlete.

Caleb Morgan was selected GSC Men's Coach of the Year. This is Morgan's fifth consecutive time winning and the ninth-time overall.

The Flames advance to the 2025 NCAA Division II South Region Championships on November 8. The 10K race will be held at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Florida.
