BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After the opening week of the year, the Lee University track and field teams earned three weekly awards as announced by the Gulf South Conference on Thursday. Aria Hawksin was the female track athlete of the week while Samara Brinks was the field athlete of the week. On the men's side, Kylian Boulanger was the freshman of the week.

Hawkins beat the NCAA standard of 9:50.34 in the 3000-meter run with a ninth-place time of 9:15.31. At the Boston opener, Hawkins time is ranked top in the GSC 3K and is currently ranked second in D2

Brinks competed in the Commodore winter challenge. She had a weighted throw of 17.05 meters which is ranked #1 in the GSC.

Boulanger also competed in the Commodore winter challenge. He finished in first with a time of 14:46.59 in the 5K. He is currently ranked fourth in the GSC
