INDIANAPOLIS – Six Lee University athletes will be participating in the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at the Indiana Bureau Fall Creek Pavillion. The three-day event is hosted by the University of Indianapolis and Indiana Sports Corp.
Making the trip are Ana Patricia Campos, Maddox Mayfield, Lily Hare, Aria Hawkins, Ryan Lovelace and Edimo Ninteretse. The Lady Flames will compete in the Distance Medley Relay and the 3000-meter Run, while the two Flames representatives will be part of the Mile, 3000-meter and 5000-meter runs.
Lovelace will be the first to hit the track on Thursday in the preliminary round of the Mile. He is in the second of two heats that are scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. Lovelace is the 13
th seed out of 18 runners with a qualifying time of 4:02.46. Reece Sharman-Newell of CSU-Pueblo holds the top seed time at 3:53.54. Four other runners enter the race with seed times under four minutes. The top three finishers of each heat and the next three best times will advance to the event final on Saturday at 3:25 p.m.
Ninteretse completes the first day of competition in the final of the 5000-meter Run at 6:35 p.m. He is seeded 17
th out of 18 with a time of 13:59.52. The top seed time of 13:02.08 was posted by Romain Legendre of Adams State.
The only action for Lee on Friday is the final of the Distance Medley Relay at 5:40 p.m. The foursome of Campos, Mayfield, Hare and Hawkins are seeded fifth with a combined time of 11:24.74. UC-Colorado Springs is seeded slightly ahead of Lee at No. 4 with a time of 11:23.59. CSU-Pueblo holds the top seed time at 11:08.55.
The Lady Flames and Flames have one athlete each set to be in the 3000-meter Run finals on Saturday beginning with the women at 4:40 and the men shortly after at approximately 5 p.m. Hawkins is the No. 6 seed in the women's race with a time of 9:19.54. Tristian Spence of Adams State is the top seed at 9:07.95. Ninteretse will be in his second event of the weekend with the 3000-meter. His seed time of 7:57.98 puts him 17
th out of 18. He is 0.50 seconds of the 14
th seeded runner. The top seed time of 7:36.28 was recorded by Adam State's Legendre.
