JACKSON, Tenn. – The 2025 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) Women's Basketball All-South Region Teams were announced on Thursday. Lee University women's basketball was the only school that had two players on the teams in the south region. Mallory Hampton was named to the first team while Haylee Johnson was named to the second team. The sports information directors in the south region voted on the teams.
Hampton has had a dynamic year. Prior to her injury where she missed six games, she was averaging almost 20 points per game and was shooting over 50% from the floor. She is still third in points per game in the GSC. She is second in FG%, first in FT%, 12
th in made three pointers, sixth in assists, tenth in assist turnover ratio, and sixth in steals. She has scored in doubles figures in all but three games this year. She has six games with 20 or more points and had 34 points at Union in the win.
Johnson has been an unstoppable player in games this year. She is seventh in the GSC in scoring and leads the conference in assists. She has 20 more assists than anyone else this season in the conference. When Mallory Hampton went down with injury, Johnson took over games. In a seven game stretch she averaged 19.7 points per game, 8.6 assists a game, and 5.6 rebounds a game. She almost had a triple double in three different games. Johnson is currently 8
th in FT% in the GSC, top in assists, 5
th in assist/turnover ratio, and 18
th in steals. She has 16 games scoring in double figures. She scored 30 against Montevallo and has scored 20 or more points in a game six times. She also played 53 minutes in a 3OT game against MC and did not commit a foul.
Coach Marty Rowe is excited for the accomplishment for his two guards. "It's a great accomplishment for both Mallory and Haylee Jo, it says so much about the body of work they've put into this season. They have both led our team on the floor and the locker room. The consistency they play with is the constant driver to our teams success this season."
Lili Wilken, a junior from Nolensville, Tennessee, was named the South Region player of the year. She helped Alabama Huntsville to a 2-seed and runner-up finish in the Gulf South Conference Tournament in 2024-25. She was named the GSC Player of the Year and first team All-GSC. Wilken averaged 17.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while also dishing out 67 assists. In GSC games alone, she was tops in the league with an 18.2 points-per-game average.
