Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Host Trevecca Nazarene University converted key free throws down the stretch and defeated the Lee University women's basketball team 63-53 in the quarterfinal round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament on Monday evening. With the loss the Lady Flames dropped to 18-10 while the Trojans improved to the same record, 18-10.
Lee fell behind 19 points early in the second quarter but showed no quit in fighting back to actually take the lead by the end of the third quarter, 39-37. The low-scoring affair saw Trevecca holding a 14-7 lead at the first stop in front of a large crowd at the Trojan Fieldhouse. Lee fought back but Trevecca was not to be denied and canned important freebies the entire fourth frame.
The Lady Flames were a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity stripe, but the Trojans were awarded 22 freebies and canned 18 to help put the battle away. Neither team shot the basketball well overall. Lee made 20-of-60 from the field (33%). The Trojans made 21-of-60 (35%). It was not a great night from beyond the arc. The Lady Flames fired up 18 treys and canned only three (17%) while Trevecca, usually a hot-shooting 3-point club, made just 3-of-17 (18%).
Led by a double-double from Anna Muhonen, 15 points and 12 rebounds, the Lady Flames out-boarded TNU 42-39. However, Lee turned the basketball over 15 times to only eight for the Trojans.
Baylee Delbridge finished with nine points and seven rebounds in the loss. Libby Privett followed with eight points and seven boards while Abby McFarland totaled eight markers and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the line. Hannah Jones gave her club a lift off the bench with four rebounds and four points. McFarland also fought for five boards.
The Trojans were led by a double-double and the inside play of Cheyenne Trotter. She grabbed 13 rebounds and tallied 19 big points. Jordan Gillies was a perfect 4-of-4 on freebies and finished with 12 points while Tatum Shaw was 5-of-6 from the line and also had 12 markers.

"We battled like crazy tonight but it's so hard to win on the road in this league. 'm proud of how this group fought all year long and played for each other. I can't say enough about our four seniors. They are all tremendous representatives of our program, our school and their families. We're going to miss each of them!"
