CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Lee University track & field teams begin their outdoor seasons this weekend by hosting the Lee University Invitational at the Ray Conn Sports Complex.
Eighteen schools, spanning all three divisions of the NCAA and the NAIA, are registered to participate in the two day event. Chattanooga is the lone NCAA Division I representative, while Lee is among six NCAA Division II schools. Joining the Flames and Lady Flames from Division II are Carson-Newman, Lock Haven (Pa.), Morehouse, Northwood (Mich.) and Trevecca Nazarene. Covenant and University of the South are the two Division III schools. The remaining nine schools (Brescia, Bryan, Campbellsville, Cumberland, Dalton State, Georgetown, Milligan, Spring Arbor and Tennessee Wesleyan) are members of the NAIA.
Action will begin at noon on Friday with the 100-meter hurdles of the Women's Heptathlon and will continue throughout the day with the Women's 10000-meter run the opening day's final event scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Saturday's events begin at 9 a.m. and the final event, the Women's 1500-meter run, set for 5:30 p.m.
If you attend in person, ticket prices are $10 per person; ages 12 and under are free; and Lee students, staff and faculty are free. Entry is only valid for a single day.
No pets are allowed at the RCC.
