Lady Flames Earn #5 Seed in the NCAA South Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the ninth season in a row, the Lee University basketball team will be dancing in the NCAA tournament. The Lady Flames were chosen as the #5 seed in the upcoming south regional and will face the #4 seed University of Tampa. This is the second straight year for the Lady Flames to be the fifth seed in the regional. Lee and Tampa will battle in Jackson, Tenn. on Friday, March 14 at 8:30 PM EST.

Lee went 24-6 this season and lost in the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference tournament on Saturday. The Spartans went 26-6 this season and were the second best team in the Sunshine State Conference.

Union University was named the top team in the region and will host the tournament. They will face the eighth seed in Miles College who won the SIAC tournament. Embry-Riddle University is the second seed in the south region after winning the Sunshine State conference regular season and tournament. They will take on the #7 University of West Florida in the first round. The final matchup in the first round will be the #3 Nova Southeastern University Sharks against the University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers who are the #6 seed.
