BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Lee University lacrosse team had four players named to the Second Team All-Gulf South Conference as announced by the league on Thursday. It is the most players named to the All-GSC teams since the 2021 season when there were four as well. Senior Hannah Vecsey, juniors Callie Curtis and Noelle Harrington, and freshman Abby Davidheiser all earned All-GSC accolades for the first time.
Hannah Vecsey is third in the GSC in points this season. She is also second in assists in the conference. She has played and started every game. She has taken the second most shots on the team this year and the second most shots on goal. She has double digit ground balls as an attack this season.
Callie Curtis has the eighth most goals this season in the GSC scoring just under two a game. She has the seventh most shots this year in the GSC. She is also fifth in draw controls in the GSC as well. Her shots on goal percentage is at .677. She was named GSC player of the week once.
Abby Davidheiser has had a good first collegiate season playing and starting every game. She leads the team in caused turnovers. She has a couple of goals and an assist. She is also in double digits in ground ball and has several draw controls.
Noelle Harrington has played and started every game for Lee. She is third in goals and fourth in assists. Her shots on goal percentage is .902 for the year. She is fourth in ground balls on the team as well.
Coach Megan Smith is excited for the recognition her four players have received. "I'm ecstatic these four are getting recognized by the conference for achievements on the field! Hannah Vecsey has been a true leader on our attack. She has surpassed 50 points on the season, 24 of those are assists where she leads our team. Her and Callie Curtis are tied for goals at 30 on the year. Callie has worked extremely hard to come back from a season ending injury last year and earn her spot. She makes her presence known on the field and is dominate on the draw for us! Noelle Harrington doesn't come off the field she is the definition of a true full midfielder excelling on both sides of the field! Her calm presence is an impact for the team. Abby Davidheiser has stepped in and filled an important spot on our defense and is a workhorse. I'm extremely proud of these girls and their constant passion to be better and make everyone better. They deserve this! "
The Lady Flames will take on Flagler College in the semifinals of the GSC Championship on Friday, April 25 at 12 PM EST.
