Theron, Lannom and Morgan Earn GSC Postseason Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference announced its annual individual major award winners following the 2025 women's outdoor track & field season and Lee University had three representatives earn one of the four honors. The awards were determined by the conference's head coaches.

Liezl Theron was named Co-Field Athlete of the Year with Liz Lannom the Freshman Athlete of the Year and Caleb Morgan earning Co-Coach of the Year honors.

Theron posted the top mark among GSC athletes in the high jump after clearing 1.73 meters, which is tied for tenth among all DII athletes. On the track, Theron recorded the fifth-best time in the 100-meter hurdles (14.78). She also amassed the eighth-most points in the heptathlon at 1,750 points. Theron claimed the 2025 GSC high jump championship and earned First Team All-GSC honors in the event.

Lannom posted the top 100-meter hurdles time in the GSC this season at 14.08 seconds and tallied the highest heptathlon point total of 4,452 points. She was part of Lee's 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams that each posted the second-fastest times of the season. Lannom also recorded the fifth-best time this season in the GSC at 24.33 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

She previously took home Most Outstanding Freshman Performer, Most Outstanding Track Performer and Most Outstanding Overall Performer at the 2025 Women's Track & Field Championships. Lannom also earned First Team All-GSC as the 100-meter hurdles champion and was Second Team All-GSC as a member of Lee's 4x100-meter relay team.

Morgan collected his eighth consecutive GSC Coach of the Year award after leading the Lady Flames to their eighth-straight conference title.
