CLEVELAND, Ga. – The sixth-rated Lee University women’s basketball team recorded its 14^th-consecutive win and second blowout victory in as many games with an 87-42 trouncing of host Truett-McConnell College (Ga.).

The Lady Flames improved to 17-1 overall and 8-1 in conference play. Lee will carry a one-half game lead over Southern Polytechnic State University into Saturday’s SSAC showdown with the Hornets in Marietta, Ga.

“Southern Poly has an extremely talented top six,” said Lee head coach Marty Rowe. “Athletically and talent-wise, they will possibly be the best we’ve seen all year. They’re going to be a load to handle.”

Lee held Truett-McConnell (1-19, 0-10 SSAC) to 25 percent (12-for-48) shooting from the field and allowed just two made three-point attempts. While the Bears were cold, Lee scorched the nets, hitting 35-of-66 (53 percent) of the shots from the floor and 12-of-27 (44 percent) from beyond the arc.

Hollie German led the three-point barrage with four made. Jenna Adams and Julia Zimmerman each canned thee attempts from distance, while Melanie Barker made good on her lone attempt.

German finished with 12 points, six assists, three rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

 Adams recorded her second straight double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The sophomore added two assists, two blocked shots and four steals to lead the way.

“She (Jenna) is such a strong player,” said Rowe. “She runs down every rebound and can hit the open shot from outside.”

Zimmerman added two field goals to go with her four three-point makes to finish with 16 points. Barker ended the game with nine markers and four assists.

“We did well, especially with Karley (Miller) out of the lineup,” added Rowe. “It messed our rotations up, but Myriah (Iles) did pretty well and stepped up to the challenge.”

Iles made 6-of-7 shots to finish with 12 points and nine rebounds. Christina Johnson hit 4-of-4 shots in tallying 11 points and five rebounds.

The Lady Flames’ bench outscored the Bears, 44-16. Lee also held a 49-18 advantage on the boards.

Truett-McConnell had one player reach double-digits in scoring. Rhande Johnson recorded team-highs with 13 points and seven rebounds.
