ATHENS, Tenn. – Dezirae Parsons, Ana Coscorrosa and Charlie Wooden each blasted home runs to lead the Lee University softball team to a pair of 6-0 victories over host Tennessee Wesleyan College Thursday afternoon.
Lee (2-0) tallied 21 hits in the doubleheader and held the Lady Bulldogs (0-2) to one hit in each game.
Parsons finished the day 3-for-6 with five RBI, including a grand slam that pushed a 1-0 Lee lead to 5-0 in the fifth inning of the opener.
Coscorrosa and Wooden hit back-to-back round trippers for the first two runs in the finale. Coscorrosa ended the day 3-for-7 with the home run and a double.
Amanda Lynn was 3-for-4 in her game one Lee debut. Dominique Hannah stroked four hits and legged out two doubles.
Jessa Watts was the game one winner. She allowed one hit, three walks and struck out six in seven innings. Watts was also 2-for-3 at the plate.
Angie Hughes picked up where Watts left off in game two. Hughes surrendered one hit, waked two and fanned nine in the complete-game win.
The Lady Flames will be back in action Friday afternoon at Bryan College. The non-conference doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
