The Lady Flames netters evened their season record at 2-2 with a 9-0 blanking of Emmanuel College (4-8, 0-2 SSAC) Saturday afternoon at the DeVos Tennis Center. The win improved Lee’s SSAC record to 1-2.
Lee swept the doubles matches with relative ease. Tonya Walters and Tarah Garner won at No. 1 doubles, 8-1. Maclain Yowarski and Christy North teamed to win 8-3, while Jodie Rice and Kelsey Lovingood blanked their counterparts.
Walters dropped one game in winning her No. 1 singles match and Garner doubled-up Molly Smith, 6-3, in their opening set before taking the second set 6-0.
Rice outscored Olivia Gish 7-1 in a first-set tiebreaker to record a 7-6 win. She then cruised to a 6-1 margin in the second set.
Yowarski won both her sets against Madalena Frausto, 6-3. North joined Morgan Friedlander in recording straight-set shutouts.
The Lady Flames will next face Shorter University Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
