Lady Flames Defeat Mobile, 6-1

Game Two Canceled Due To Inclement Weather

MOBILE, Ala. – Dezirae Parson’s bases loaded RBI ground out in the first inning proved to be the winning run as the Lady Flames defeated No. 21 University of Mobile, 6-1, in an important SSAC crossover series. Game two of the doubleheader was canceled due to inclement weather.

The Lady Flames (25-3, 11-2 SSAC) recorded 11 singles in the game. Dominique Hannah, Ana Coscorrosa, Charlie Wooden and Laurel Allen each reached safely twice. Amanda Lynn, Lexie Dean and Meghan Macias added one hit each to the total.

Hannah delivered an RBI single in the first inning and added two insurance runs with a two-run single in the sixth. Coscorrosa drove in Lee’s third run in the second inning.

Mobile (17-9, 2-3 SSAC) received two hits each from Brittany Dunson and Jordan Coleman. Coleman drove in a run for the Rams.

Jessa Watts (5-1) earned the win after scattering six hits over five innings and pitching out of couple jams. The left-hander gave up one run and struck out three Mobile batters.

Katie Deems allowed two hits, walked two and fanned one in two innings of relief.

Alli Hall was charged with the loss. Hall (8-4) was tagged for six runs (five earned), 11 hits and four walks, while striking out three Lady Flames.
