Box Score
The Lady Flames tennis team won three singles matches, but it wasn't enough as The University of Alabama in Huntsville recorded the 6-3 GSC win Wednesday afternoon at the DeVos Tennis Center.
Lee (2-5, 2-3 GSC) trailed by three following the doubles matches. Tonya McGraner and Maclain Yowarsky were beaten 8-6 by Marleen Gort and Aniek Remmerswaal. Kelsey Lovingood and Annie Sandberg were held off by Aude Rappaz and Maria Lawton, 9-7. Jodie Rice and Krista Good lost 8-1 to Katie Bryant and Jessica Groupierre.
UAH (5-3, 3-3 GSC) earned two-set wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 singles.
Rice dropped just four games at No 4 singles to tally the win over Lawton. Good and Rappaz had a tight match at No. 5 singles with Good able to record the 7-5, 6-4 win.
The No. 3 singles match required tie-breakers in both sets. Sandberg won the first set tie-breaker 7-4 over Remmerswaal and needed a 7-5 margin in the second set tie-breaker to post the straight-set victory.
The Lady Flames have two weeks until their next scheduled match. Lee will host Young Harris College on March 19 at 2 p.m.
