Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- In a match that took only 1 1/2 hours to contest, the Lee University Lady Flames (4-13) lost to NCAA Division I University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, 7-0, Thursday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Courts.
Chattanooga (17-3) carried a 1-0 lead following the doubles competition. Kaylene Chadwell and Jovana Pecovski defeated Jodie Rice and Krista Good, 8-0, at No. 2 doubles. Kelsey Lovingood and Annie Sandberg were beaten 8-1 by Alison Storie and Rachele Gazzola. At No. 1 doubles, Tonya McGraner and Maclain Yowarsky fell to Kelsey Coots and Katie Polk, 8-3.
UTC won all six matches of singles competition in straight sets where the Lady Flames won six games.
Alexa Flynn recorded her team's second point with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Yowarsky at No. 2 singles. McGraner fell 6-0, 6-1 to Kayla Jones at No. 1 singles.
The final four singles matches finished in order. Sandberg, Good and Morgan Friedlander each tallied one game win against their opponents. Rice won two games in her opening set with Storie.
The Lady Flames return home for their final regular season match on Wednesday, April 16. The non-conference match against Auburn University at Montgomery is scheduled for 1 p.m.
