WALESKA, Ga. – This past weekend the Lee University tennis teams traveled to Reinhardt University to participate in their second event of the fall season. The Lady Flames walked away with two singles winners and a doubles winner.
"This was a solid tournament for us," said Lee head coach Patric Hynes. "We were able to get a lot of quality matches into our players and see where we stand with our toughness. For the most part, our teams did a good job with this."
Jodie Rice won the B singles flight and Christy North was the winner of the C flight. Tonya McGraner and Marta Garcia-Nieto teamed together to win the A doubles flight.
For the men, Ignacio Salom advanced to the final of the A singles before having to settle for second.
"For our last event, it will be our first look at some of our Gulf South competition, so it's a good opportunity to see how we stack up there. Our main goal will be the same as it has been for our first two tournaments. Compete fiercely and continue our improvement as a team," concluded the first-year coach.
The Flames and Lady Flames will end the fall portions of their schedules with a trip to Huntsville, Ala., for the UAH Invitational on October 10.
