SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Lee University men's cross country team completed the 2019 season finishing 27
th at the NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday.
Colorado Mines was the overall men's team champion with 57 points. Adams State was second (136) and Chico State placed third (143). Alabama Huntsville was the top team from the South Region. The Chargers (491) were 19
th overall, while Saint Leo (668) was 30
th. The Flames collected 576 points.
Ezra Mutai of American International was the individual winner in a race consisting of 265 competitors. He completed the course in 29:31.2 to win by over two seconds.
The first Flame across the finish line was Ben Tabor. The sophomore posted a time of 31:40.3 to claim 110
th overall. Casey Guthery and Moises Ponce were right behind. Guthery (31:40.9) was 113
th and Ponce (31:42.6) was 116
th.
Thomas Kelton recorded a time of 32:00.4 to finish 151
st. Will Stone moved up through the crowd to place 186
th (32.29.5) and set the top-five for Lee.
Caleb Eagleson and Adan Rodriguez were the final Lee runners. Eagleson was 229
th overall at 33:17.0. Rodriguez was 245
th with a time of 33:58.9.
