For the second straight year Haley Schubert was named to a Honorable Mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association this week.
The talented point guard from Knoxville, Tenn. finished the season sixth in the GSC in scoring with 16.4 ppg and first in assists, dishing off 157 and 4.8 per contest. She was fifth in the league in assist/turnover ratio at 1.5. Schubert was also named to the All-South Region First Team, All-GSC First Team and GSC All-Tournament honors as she helped guide the Lady Flames to the title game and posted 18.6 ppg and 4.8 apg over three games.
"We're excited for Haley and her teammates that she's being recognized as one of the best players in the country," said Lee head coach Marty Rowe. "What's great about this award is that it is voted on by other coaches and that's a testament to the respect other people have for her as a player. She had a great year and we're so glad she's decided to return for another season to lead our program."
Schubert and the Lady Flames posted a 25-8 mark and won an NCAA Tournament game for the first time since 2018, with an 87-77 win over Benedict. Schubert will be back for her fifth year with the Lady Flames next season.
