Lady Flames Drop Double Header To AUM

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Ala.-The Lee University softball team dropped both games of the double header to Auburn University Montgomery on Saturday afternoon to open a Gulf South Conference weekend series. With the losses, Lee fell to 6-13 overall and 3-5 in GSC play.
 
Game 1
 
Ana Macha had a hit in the top of the first but could not score. AUM scored in the bottom of the first when Lee had an error and allowed a run slip through. The Warhawks added five runs in the bottom of the third inning. After an error from the Lady Flames, AUM had three walks and four hits to extend the lead. The Lady Flames only managed three hits in the entire game.
 
AUM finished the game early in the fifth when four singles brought home two runs to end the game 8-0.
 
Macha had two of the three hits for the Lady Flames with Annalyn Ormsby collecting the other.
 
Game 2
 
Macha again on base to get the game going but was stranded at second base. Aum scored a run in the bottom of the first again as they used a single, stolen base, a wild pitch and a ground out to score. The Lady Flames had two singles from Sidney Lee and Annalyn Ormsby but they were left stranded.
 
AUM broke the game open in the bottom of the second. They led the inning off with a home run and then added three more runs on five more hits to take a 5-0 after two innings. The Lady Flames got on the score board in the top of the third. Laney Harris got a single, that was followed by a walk from Javaria Smith. Lee then singled and scored Harris. Rylie Goodridge got on base via an error to score Smith and Lee trailed 5-2.
 
AUM added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning when they had three hit, two hits, and two errors to make the lead 7-2. In the top of the fifth, Macha was walked and then Alexa Scalzo doubled but Macha was thrown out at home. Smith was walked and then Scalzo was forced out at third on a Lee fielder's choice and the threat ended for the Lady Flames. AUM ended the game early with three singles and sacrifice fly to win 10-2.
 
The Lady Flames will be back in action on Sunday, March 5th at 1 PM in the final game of the series.
